Medium Flake

In a Medium Flake garage floor, the color of the coating becomes more relevant as it is not completely covered by flakes. The flakes are randomly scattered into an industrial strength water base epoxy coating on the floor, then topped off with an aliphatic urethane. The water-based epoxy withstands more hydrostatic pressure than most if not all, garage floor coatings. This system is 2 coats of water-based epoxy with 1 coat of clear. This type of floor looks best on brand-new or undamaged concrete surfaces. The flakes add enhancement to the overall appearance of your floor. The Medium Flake Broadcast System has a little smoother feel and looks than the Full Flake Broadcast System. This floor is the easiest type to clean due to it’s smoothness. This is the owner’s favorite floor to install, and he loves the look of it. Many other companies will not even attempt to install this floor because it takes great skill to spread the flakes evenly.

Full Flake

Full flake means that the concrete floor is completely covered with flakes. When you look at the concrete floor, the main part you will see is the flake system, it will appear to resemble granite, stone, or Terrazzo. A properly installed full flake system adds thickness and provides more durability and strength. With a full broadcast, you essentially have an additional coat on your floor – 2 coats of industrial-strength water-based epoxy with 1 coat of clear, 72% solid polyaspartic.

One-Day POLYASPARTIC Garage Floor Coating

The notable difference between the 2-day and 1-day concrete floor coating comes down to the type of product that is used as the base coat for bonding to the concrete. Two-Day systems commonly use a higher-solids Industrial-Strength water-based epoxy for the base coat, whereas One-Day systems commonly use a Polyaspartic material for the base coat. Polyaspartic is a much Quicker-curing base coat, therefore, it enables the garage floor finish to be installed in one day.
